Hope Huskey

Founder, Little Witch Creative

Hope Huskey, a citizen of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, is the artist behind Little Witch Creative, where she blends tradition and innovation through ceramics, bandolier bags, and graphic design. With approximately six years of experience in her art forms, Hope draws inspiration from Cherokee designs and the interplay of popular culture and Native traditions to create work that is both meaningful and modern. Hope’s artistic journey has been shaped by her education and dedication to learning from master Cherokee artists. She holds a BA in Literature and a Master’s in Project Management and has honed her skills through diverse opportunities: graphics design courses at Southwestern Community College, three years of Didanisisgi Pottery Workshops with Cherokee master potter Tara McCoy, wheel-throwing classes at the Nantahala School of the Arts, and sewing and beading instruction from esteemed Cherokee artists. Her work has been recognized in the Kananesgi Art Show, where she won 1st place in Functional Art (2024) for her beaded moccasins and 2nd place in Bags (2024) for a traditional bandolier bag.

A resident of Sylva, NC, and member of the Wolftown Community, Hope is passionate about fostering awareness and celebration of Indigenous arts. As the founder and a committee member of the Kananesgi Art Market & Fashion Show, and creator of the Authentically Cherokee program through the Sequoyah Fund, she empowers fellow EBCI artists to share their stories and heritage. Hope’s work—ranging from traditional Cherokee pottery to graphic design—can be found at authenticallycherokee.com, where she continues to champion the vibrancy of Native artistry.
